Founder Story

MIA ROSE

Hi, I’m Mia Rose.


Russian-born, Australian-raised, now Miami-based. I’m a clean eating advocate, certified health coach, energy and sound healing practitioner, accidental chef, and the founder of NuTTi Gelato.  My journey to creating a healthy, clean gelato started as pure survival. My body basically forced me to.

Why I Care So Much About “Clean”

I was born three months premature and spent most of my life fighting my own system — health challenges, severe digestive issues, food allergies, mood swings, depression, exhaustion, puffiness, bloating… all of it.


Later I discovered it was all tied to intolerances to dairy, wheat, gluten, preservatives, and all the “extra” stuff hiding in food labels. By my late 20s I felt awful most of the time and was told it was “hormonal,” but after every test possible, all my results came back “normal.” Basically, the answer from doctors was, “live with it.” I decided not to.
For more than two decades I’ve gone all-in on healing: clean eating, detoxing, healing foods, and understanding the mind–gut–skin connection. Along the way I’ve practiced yoga, meditation, and natural therapies for over 27 years, travelled the world, and slowly rebuilt my health from the inside out.

What I found actually worked — removing gums, preservatives, fake flavours and “natural flavour” loopholes — gave me back my energy, mood and skin. It also gave me a mission: to help other people feel human again too. That’s where my Clean Gut Reset and my upcoming clean cookbook come from. They’re not theory. They’re exactly what I had to do to heal my own body.

The Gelato That Wasn’t Supposed to Be a Business

For about 20 years I basically avoided ice cream. Even the “dairy-free” or “healthy” ones on shelves still had gums, fillers or additives that made me react. One night, after yet another bad reaction to coconut cream with hidden guar gum, I hit my line. Why was it this hard to find something truly clean?  So I started making my own at home for my family: simple bases, real ingredients, sweeteners like honey and maple syrup. No gums. No preservatives. No weird stuff I couldn’t pronounce.

What began as a personal quest turned into NuTTi Gelato: a cashew-and-maple based gelato with no gums, no fillers, no emulsifiers, no junk. Organic where it matters, kosher, and as clean as the label looks.  From my kitchen to a chest freezer in our living room, NuTTi grew fast. In six months we went from about 60 pints a week to a 6,000-unit first order. We landed national distribution and got into 100+ stores in the U.S. and Canada — without investors, huge budgets, or a big team. Just a truly clean product, clear standards, and a lot of persistence.


Today, NuTTi Gelato is still very much alive and scooping — on shelves across the U.S. and Canada and in freezers of people who actually care what they put in their body. If you’re dairy-free, vegan, or just tired of “healthy” products that are full of chemicals, you’re my people.

How I Live It at Home

After two decades of travelling, I now call Miami home, but I’ll always be an Aussie at heart. I live here with my husband and our twin girls.

They’ve been raised on the same standard I use for myself: goat milk, wild-caught sockeye salmon, homemade pesto, paleo desserts, and real, nutrient-dense food. No gums, no hidden junk that quietly bloats them or wrecks their mood. And yes — they’ve grown up on NuTTi Vegan Gelato, a dessert that actually loves them back.

Clean eating isn’t a phase for us. It’s just how we live.

What I Actually Do Now

I help people clean things up — their body, their product, and their business.

Right now I do two main things:

1. For Founders

I work with ice cream, gelato and clean CPG founders who are where I once was:
The product is good, people love it at markets and pop-ups, but the path to “real” scale is messy.

You bring me everything on the table — your tubs, pricing, margins, story, where you’re selling now, what’s not working, and all the “I’m stuck” questions.

I pull it apart, find the weak spots fast, and come back with a clear, practical path:

  • what to fix first,

  • what to stop wasting time and money on,

  • how to think about scaling beyond markets and beach pop-ups,

  • and where you need to bring in help instead of doing everything yourself.

 

Clients tell me they leave feeling like the business is finally tangible — the big goal doesn’t feel like a fantasy anymore, and the next steps are clear, realistic and doable.

 

I can do this because I’ve lived both sides:
I’ve taken a gum-free, clean-label gelato from my home kitchen into 100+ stores across the U.S. and Canada, and for 30 years I’ve been the person who gets the “yes” — from buyers, distributors, sponsors and partners. I understand the product, the numbers and what the person on the other side of the table actually needs to see to say yes.

2. For Everyone Else

I teach clean, honest food – the kind that actually loves you back.
No gums. No fake flavours. No hidden junk. No pretending something is “healthy” when the label tells a different story.

That shows up in things like my Clean Gut Reset, my upcoming clean cookbook, and the way I talk about everyday choices: how to read an ingredient label, what to avoid in your freezer and pantry, and how to build meals and treats (yes, including ice cream) that support your gut, skin, mood and energy.

 

And if you just want a clean dessert without doing the work, that’s literally why NuTTi Gelato exists – a gum-free, cashew-based gelato you can find in freezers across the U.S. and Canada.  It’s food-as-medicine, but practical and doable — for busy parents, sensitive tummies, and anyone who’s just tired of feeling lousy after they eat.

NuTTi started as a clean gelato. Now it’s the standard I bring into everything I do:
